Seven World Central Kitchen aid workers were killed in a strike in Gaza, the food aid nonprofit said Tuesday, including a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, nationals from Australia, Poland and the United Kingdom, and at least one Palestinian worker. The organization blamed the Israel Defense Forces and said it was immediately pausing its operations in the region. Israel announced an independent investigation of the incident, describing the deaths as “tragic” but did not claim responsibility.
