As Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump is set to face hush money trial Monday, his wife Melania Trump has been very worried about this legal brawl which is quite embarrassing for the ex-first lady, according to former White House aide Stephanie Grisham.
New York City District Attorney Alvin Bragg is investigating the hush money case for which 77-year-old Trump falsified a business record to pay an adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.
Daniels was paid not to go public regarding her sexual encounter with Trump in 2006 after he was married to Melania Trump.
Former president Trump has been consistently denying all the charges and pleaded not guilty and accused Alvin Bragg of pursuing the case for political purposes.
Trump’s former White House Secretary Grisham told CNN: “I would imagine that she is pushing him to make this stop. I would imagine that she would push him to go on the stand and defend himself because this is very, very embarrassing for her.”
She also said: “It’s humiliating for her, and I can guarantee you that she’s not happy right now and that he’s quite worried about that.”
Grisham revealed how Melania responded to the allegations of sexual encounter: “She didn’t take it lightly at all. We went to the State of the Union separately. She refused to walk out to Marine One with him because she didn’t want to be like Hillary Clinton and stand by her man.”
“She’s a very independent and strong woman,” Grisham said.
Grisham ceased supporting her former boss after the January 6, 2021 riots and stepped down from Melania’s chief of staff the same day.
