As actor Govinda joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena on Thursday ahead of Lok Sabha polls, he reminisced his time in politics between 2004 and 2009 and said that there was ‘vanvaas’ from 2010 to 2024.
A Look At His Political Journey
The actor’s entry into politics dates back to 2004 when he represented the Indian National Congress and contested from the North Mumbai Lok Sabha seat, defeating BJP veteran Ram Naik.
His victory was viewed as a massive one as over the years, North Mumbai that comprises of several key assembly segments had been considered a BJP stronghold.
Thereby, as Govinda defeated Ram Naik, a five-time MP he made a significant mark in his political career.
