Veteran New Zealand batter Grant Bradburn announced retirement from his position as the team’s high-performance coach on Monday, saying he is grateful to have worked with the Green Shirts and coaches.

Bradburn was initially appointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as the head coach of the national men’s side for the next two years in May last year.

However, the cricket body in November 2023 changed the portfolio of the entire coaching staff including head coach Bradburn.

“All coaches will continue to work in National Cricket Academy while PCB will announce the new coaching staff in due course for the upcoming series in Australia and New Zealand,” PCB had stated.

The 57-year-old had coached the Pakistan team during the World Cup 2023.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Bradburn announced his retirement as the coach.

“Time to close the amazing chapter that has been Pakistan cricket. Three roles over five years, I am proud of what’s been achieved and grateful to have worked with so many outstanding players, coaches and staff,” said Bradburn.

“Wishing the teams, staff and everyone at Pakistan Cricket continued success and growth,” he added.
