The accused Greek rapping trio allegedly laundered money by making extravagant expenditures within the music industry
In Greece, law enforcement has apprehended a 28-year-old rap artist, unnamed at present, suspected of employing explosives in ATM heists to fund his music videos.
The arrest occurred alongside two other individuals, aged 26 and 27, following a police raid near Athens and the search of multiple vehicles. The seized items included 1.5 kilograms of explosives, an M16 assault rifle, four handguns, and over 200,000 euros in cash.
According to Police Brig Gen Ioannis Skouras, the accused trio allegedly laundered money by making extravagant expenditures within the music industry and through casino gambling.
Police spokeswoman Constantia Dimoglidou asserted that the gang, associated with ten ATM attacks across Greece, primarily in remote areas, managed to steal an estimated total of 710,000 euros.
The suspects are now facing charges related to multiple counts of robbery, illegal possession of firearms, the unlawful use of explosives, and vehicle theft.
