Seasoned all-rounder Imad Wasim announced on Saturday his decision to withdraw from retirement, making himself available to represent the Pakistan cricket team once again.

Expressing his gratitude to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their trust in him, Imad Wasim affirmed his commitment to utilising his talents to bring titles to Pakistan.

The resurgence of Imad Wasim’s cricketing career comes on the heels of a flurry of communications between him and key figures within the national cricketing setup.

Sources close to the matter revealed that following the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), national T20 team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi initiated talks with Imad, stressing the indispensable need for his presence in the team.

Further adding weight to the persuasion, National Team Chief Selector Wahab Riaz personally reached out to Imad, extending warm congratulations for his stellar performance in the PSL.

Imad’s remarkable display for Islamabad United, both with the bat and the ball, especially in the crucial final matches, served as a testament to his prowess as an all-rounder. His stellar performance culminated in a five-wicket haul in the final, earning him the prestigious title of Player of the Match.

However, despite the overwhelming support and encouragement from his peers and selectors, Imad Wasim initially expressed reservations, highlighting the need to consult with his family and close confidants before arriving at a final decision.
