Israel-Gaza war live updates: Human Rights Watch condemns U.S. after it vetoes cease-fire resolution

The United States on Friday blocked a U.N. Security Council draft resolution that called for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza, as well as the unconditional release of all hostages. It had near-unanimous support from member states. Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations praised the move, calling the resolution “distorted,” while Human Rights Watch said it puts the United States at risk of “complicity in war crimes.”
