Jailed TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s wife N Bhuvaneswari on Wednesday participated in her ‘Nijam Gelavali’ (truth shall triumph) bus tour to protest against her husband’s arrest in connection with the Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation ‘scam’ and said that people of the state stand with him as he worked for their welfare.
Addressing the gathering, she said, “I hope that women will understand my grief. I didn’t come here to do politics. I am here to say that the truth should win. The struggle is not only of mine. It is also of the entire people of the state. Chandrababu always thinks about the welfare of the people and his utmost priority is people and second is family.”
Speaking on the cases against Naidu, she added, “The state government is saying there are cases against him in skill development, ring road and fiber net scams. Is there any evidence against him in any one of the cases? He struggled hard for five years to develop the state. He worked hard without bothering his health. The TDP activists in Punganoor were attacked when they took up a cycle rally. How long do we have to bear the atrocities? Let us join together and fight against the atrocities. We jointly take the struggle forward.”
She also alleged that the state government tried hard to stop the Yuvagalam, the walkathon, taken up by her son Nara Lokesh but they failed to do so.
“The ruling YSR Congress Party leaders have been threatening the TDP cadre on the name of cases and imprisonment. Their tactics will not work out against the TDP. The state government least bothered about the development of the state. One can hardly witness development in the state. Entire state has been gripped in the atrocities. There is no safety to the women under the YSRCP rule,” she said.
Earlier in the day, she launched the bus yatra at Naravaripalli after paying floral tribute to the statue of TDP founder NT Rama Rao. She visited the families of those who reportedly died of shock after hearing about the arrest of former chief minister Naidu across the state and console them.
She visited the family of A Praveen Reddy in Chandragiri and family of K Chinnabba in Nendragunta and handed over a cheque worth Rs 3 lakh to each of the families.
