Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed in a grand manner by BJP leaders and party workers at the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting on Thursday. This comes after the saffron party won the Assembly elections in three major states — Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

As he entered the room, party workers and leaders began chanting, “Modi ji ka swagat hai,” along with a standing ovation from everyone present there. BJP national President JP Nadda also garlanded him as a welcome gesture.

The prime minister’s leadership has been cited as the primary reason behind the party’s thumping win in the three states. In the fourth state — Telangana — the Congress dethroned BRS, however BJP’s vote share and tally improved since the last elections.

While addressing the MPs at the meetings, the prime minister attributed to the saffron party’s victory in the Assembly elections to all the party workers.  He said that this is the result of ‘team spirit’.

This is a win for all the BJP workers, he said, all of them should be hailed and celebrated.

PM Modi asked the MPs and party workers to address him as just Modi and not ‘Modi ji’. “Modi kaha karo, Modi ji na kaha karo. Modi ki guarantee boliye,” he said.
