Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has spoken out against the Punjab Police, condemning what he describes as their unacceptable treatment of his family during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match in Multan.

Taking to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Amir expressed shock and dismay over the reported mistreatment of his family by the Deputy Commissioner of Multan.

According to Amir, his family was unjustly ejected from the match venue by the Deputy Commissioner, who purportedly claimed ownership of the ground in an arrogant manner.

Mohammad Amir, known for his prowess on the cricket field, emphasized that such abuse of power cannot be tolerated.

He called upon the authorities to take immediate action to address the situation.

In a direct appeal to newly-elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Amir urged for swift measures to be taken against the police personnel involved.

The incident occurred amidst the ongoing ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League, with matches being held simultaneously in Lahore and Multan.

Amir’s presence in the tournament has garnered attention, especially after his move from Karachi Kings to Quetta Gladiators for PSL 9.

Having been a part of Karachi Kings since the inception of the league in 2016, Amir’s transfer to Quetta Gladiators marked a significant change.

He was notably selected as the Gladiators’ second pick in the Platinum round, further highlighting his importance to the team.
