Karachi Kings beat Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets in the sixth Pakistan Super League (PSL 9) match at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Wednesday.

Chasing a 155-run target for victory, Kings crossed the finishing line with seven wickets in hand and 19 balls to spare. Kieron Pollard remained the top scorer with 49 runs followed by James Vince who made 38 runs. Veteran Shoaib Malik scored 29 runs while Muhammad Akhlaq made 24 runs. Luke Wood bagged two wickets while Waqar Salamkheil took one wicket.

After being asked to bat first by Kings captain Shan Masood, Zalmi was all out on 154 runs on the penultimate ball of the innings. Skipper Babar Azam was the top scorer with 72 runs while Rovman Powell made 39 and Asif Ali 23 runs. As no other batter managed to reach double figures, Zalmi were slumped to 154 runs.

Mir Hamza and Hassan Ali bagged three wickets each while Daniel Sams took two and Mohammad Nawaz and Shoaib Malik got one wicket each.

Babar Azam-led Zalmi and Shan Masood-led Karachi Kings started their PSL 2024 campaign in unimpressive way as they lost their first game to the opponents.

Quetta Gladiators had stunned Peshawar Zalmi while Karachi were defeated by Multan Sultans and now both teams are eying to make a comeback.
