Saim Ayub showcasing his skills with Guyana Warriors, once more displayed a formidable performance, leading his team to victory over Trinbago Knight Riders and securing the coveted Carrabean Premier League (CPL) title.

This remarkable win marked Warriors’ first CPL title after playing six final clashes and becoming runners-up in five matches.

After being asked to bat first, the four-time champions, Knight Riders, were bundled out for a mere 94 runs in 18.1 overs

During the chase, Saim demonstrated his batting brilliance, crafting an undefeated match-winning innings of 52* runs off 41 balls, which included two fours and five sixes, with an exceptional strike rate of 126.82.

As the match neared its conclusion, the 21-year-old finished the game emphatically by hitting a straight six off Ali Khan’s delivery, enabling his team to chase down the target in just 14.1 overs.

The left-hand batsman showcased an impressive performance in the CPL, amassing 478 runs across 13 matches, which included 4 half-centuries, maintaining a solid average of 43.45 and a formidable strike rate of 142.26. 

Furthermore, he secured the position of the tournament’s second-highest run-scorer. Not only scoring runs, but he is also the only batter with the most number of fours (39) and sixes (28) in the tournament.
