Pakistan cricketer, Shadab Khan, opened up about his strong inclination towards Test matches and his aspirations to make a comeback in the longer format of the game.
In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Shadab acknowledged the importance of gaining experience in four-day cricket and emphasized his commitment to perform well in domestic competitions.
“I really enjoy Test cricket and my heart definitely desires it because I haven’t played four-day cricket for quite some time. I plan to take out time to play four-day cricket after the World Cup because currently, there is no such opportunity for me to play four-day cricket,” Shadab said.
“After the World Cup, I will play four-day cricket, and I will try my best to perform well there, then I will aim for Test matches. Until I play four-day cricket, I cannot play Test matches,” he added.
It is worth noting that the 24-year-old has played six Test matches in his career so far, accumulating 14 wickets at a bowling average of 36.64. His most recent appearance in the Test format was against England in 2020.
Shadab is currently playing for Sussex in the ongoing Vitality Blast 2023, where he has been a standout performer with his exceptional skills both as a bowler and a batter.
