The veteran Pakistan T20I all-rounder, Shoaib Malik, has set the cricketing world abuzz by officially announcing his availability for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in 2024 scheduled in USA and West Indies.
In a recent interview with a local media channel, Shoaib expressed his willingness to make himself available for the national side in the upcoming mega-event tournament if the cricket board reaches out to him.
“I would love to lift T20 World Cup in 2024 for Pakistan. I have no physical fitness issue. I’m as fit as I was in my younger days. I’m available for Pakistan whenever PCB contacts me,” Shoaib said.
It is worth noting that the 42-year-old has scored 2435 runs in 124 T20I matches with an average of 31.21 and a strike rate of 125.64. His last T20I match was in 2021 against Bangladesh in Mirpur.
The right-hand batter also has a remarkable feat to his name as he is the second highest run-scorer in T20 cricket with 12,688 runs in 515 matches with an average of 36.25 and strike-rate of 127.68 which also icludes 79 half-centuries.
