Taking to X, Poonawalla further said that Sen’s comment was a blow against the armed forces as the crashing of the Tejas aircraft will risk the lives of the air force personnel

National Spokesperson of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Shehzad Poonawalla lashed out at Trinamool Congress MP Santanu Sen for allegedly saying that the Indian Air Force’s Tejas aircraft might crash as Prime Minister Narendra Modi sat in it.

TMC MP Santanu Sen taunted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for completing his Tejas sortie. Sen said, “Just like India lost the World Cup because of PM Modi’s presence in the stadium, now Tejas might crash as the Prime Minister is the harbinger of bad luck.”

Taking to X, Poonawalla further said that Sen’s comment was a blow against the armed forces as the crashing of the Tejas aircraft will risk the lives of the air force personnel. He further alleged that political parties like the Trinamool Congress’s hatred against the Prime Minister and the ruling party have made them hit new lows as they have now turned to wish ill for the country’s armed forces as well.

While critticizing the TMC leader on their remark Poonawalla referred to the time when West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee doubted the surgical strike calling to be a ‘fake and plotted one’. He also questioned whether the TMC MP’s comment would be endorsed by CM Banerjee or will due action be taken against him.

Sen while talking to the media also expressed that he is scared that Modi’s presence might lead to the crashing of the aircraft.

In a conversation with CNN News18, Sen said that it was his personal opinion and that a chronology of events in his observation led him to make this comment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday ‘successfully completed’ a sortie on the Tejas aircraft. Calling his experience ‘incredibly enriching’, PM Modi said that it significantly bolstered his confidence in India’s indigenous capabilities. “It left me with a renewed sense of pride and optimism about our national potential,” the prime minister added.
